Past Events

Pumpkin Harvest Festival
Sat Sept 10th 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
FREE Admission

Pull on your boots, roll up your sleeves, and plan to get working (and maybe a little dirty) with Your Farmers at Miller's in our pumpkin fields. We'll be smack dab in the middle of the pumpkin harvest on the Farm, and we're inviting you to come join us for one of the faster-paced times of the season. Not only will you have a chance to work alongside us, but we're offering you and your family a chance to check out the fun Fall activities for no charge. That's right, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. during the Pumpkin Harvest Festival, you can enjoy the cornfield maze, the giant hay bale maze, the play area and the various picnic areas for Free Admission. In addition, we will be offering two Guided Farm Tours at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on this day.

Guided Farm Tour
Sat Sept 10th 2 p.m. AND 4 p.m.
FREE Admission

In celebration of the Pumpkin Harvest (see above), we are offering Guided Farm Tours. Hop on a hayride along with one of our Farmers and enjoy the stories, statistics, and good old-fashioned fun of seeing Farm life up close and personal. The Guided Farm Tour runs approximately 45 minutes and allows you a closer look at our Poultry and Pork pastures, our pesticide-free orchards, and our low-spray pumpkin fields. This is your chance to ask all your questions about farming, farm life, and even the most embarrassing moments for Your Farmers at Miller's!

Apple Intensive Workshops
Sat AND Sun Sept 24th and 25th
By reservation, 1-hr time-slots from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
$20/family additional fee

Do you love the hands-on experience of picking apples straight from the tree? Are you interested in learning about the age-old art of "orchard-keeping" from the Miller's orchardists? Then bring your family (or a group of friends who feel like family) and reserve an hour with Your Farmers at Miller's in our pesticide-free orchards. One of our Farmers will give you a 15-minute overview of our orchards and fruit-production philosophy. Then they'll outfit you with a "pickin' sack" and work alongside you to properly (and efficiently) harvest a tree. During the rest of your reserved hour, you'll be picking, gabbing, and learning from our orchardists. Apple Intensive Workshops are $20/family and must be reserved in advance by emailing yourfarmers@millersorchard.com or calling 570-587-3399.

Live Music on the Farm--POSTPONED due to weather conditions
Sat Oct 1st 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Included in Regular Admission

Come enjoy the Fall on the Farm with some country-style tunes serenading you in the background. We're inviting some of our musician friends to join us (and YOU!) on the Farm for a day of fresh air, great music, and good times! This event has been postponed until later in the month as we wait for the skies to stop pouring rain! Check back here for more details soon.

Everything PORK Festival
Sat Oct 8th
Various times throughout the day
Included in Regular Admission

We love our pigs, and Your Farmers at Miller's LOVE their pork! By far the smartest creatures on the Farm (sometimes that's including the humans!), our pigs are a source of hilarious entertainment and yummy sustenance. So we're setting aside a day to celebrate all things pork and wonderful! We'll have Pastured Pork sampler dishes, special Pork-Intensive Guided Farm Tours (all you ever wanted to know about raising and breeding pigs!), recipe swapping, and more!

Pastured Meats "How-To:" A Farmwife's Cooking Demonstration
Special Kids-Only Guided Farm Tour (Mom's: It's a little time-out for you!)
Mon Oct 10th 1 p.m.
Included in Regular Admission

Your Farmers at Miller's have been cooking with Pastured meats for a while, and we've got some tips on how to turn this nutrient-dense, protein-rich meat into savory, cut-it-with-your-fork dishes. The farmwives at Miller's are just itching to share their Pastured Meat best practices, time-saver tips, and kitchen secrets with you. Special focus in this cooking demo will be on Pastured Poultry and Pastured Pork, available for purchase in the Farm Market. While Mom's (and Dad's, and everyone else) experience the cooking demo, we've planned a special Kids-Only Guided Farm Tour that will occupy, entertain, and educate the little ones! If your kids don't have school on Columbus Day (or even if they do), consider spending the afternoon at the Farm to learn something new and have some Farm-fresh fun!

(Pastured) Pulled Pork BBQ Dinner
Sat Oct 15th 3 p.m.
$10/meal

Come taste our Pastured Pork in fine, juicy, barbecue form! We'll be slow-cooking our Pastured Pork in the best Pork BBQ sauce this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. Available for take-out only. Available for take-out meals by reservation only. Meals may be reserved by emailing yourfarmers@millersorchard.com or calling 570-587-3399. Check back here soon for more details.

2nd Annual Cider Squeeze
Sat and Sun Oct 22nd and 23rd

No Admission Required–Demos available in Farm Market
Your Farmers at Miller's are incredibly fond of our apples, and we love few things more than a glass of sweet Apple Cider straight from the cider press. Back by popular demand, we are hosting the 2nd Annual Cider Squeeze! Wally, Lew, or Amber will be running regular demonstrations of our small-batch, expertly-crafted Apple Cider operations throughout the weekend. And we'll be setting out various sweet Apple Cider blends for your sampling pleasure as well. Come hang out with the "cider masters" and learn some of the finer points of cider crafting.

Season-End Pumpkin-Smashing Festival (aka "Feeding the Pigs")
Sun Oct 30th, CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER

Included in Regular Admission
Have you ever wondered what happens to the leftover pumpkins at the end of October? Well, wonder no more! The Farm's lovable omnivores (also known as the Pastured Pork herd) love to devour the remaining pumpkins at the end of Fall. Rather than do all the pumpkin loading, transporting, and smashing on our own, Your Farmers at Miller's thought some of our Visitors might want to join in the fun! Especially if you joined us for the Pumpkin Harvest Festival in September, why not return to smash up the leftovers before Winter? The pigs will love you for aiding their pumpkin-meal digestion, and we think you might have some fun yourself!
