The
Greenhouse
In
2003 we opened our greenhouse because we needed
quality vegetable plants to start in our hoop houses as
well as bedding plants to beautify the farm market
grounds. We so
enjoyed planting and tending the young seedlings as the
winter winds howled outside, that we continued to add to
our selection. We
now offer, in addition to the usual spring bedding plants,
a nice variety of the “not-so typical” plants for
containers and beds.
The
Greenhouse is not just for flowers--in our vegetable
fields and hoop houses we have begun utilizing organic
cultivation techniques. Our organic produce starts
as organic seedlings in the Greenhouse. The
vegetable plants we will transplant into our fields next
spring will be started this winter from seed in our Greenhouse
using organic soil and fertilizer.
Wherever possible, organic seed will be used.
If organic seed is not available, untreated seed is
used. And now we
offer a LARGE selection of
organically grown vegetable plants for sale to
the general public.
If you're
careful about the food you eat, you’ll want to grow our
organic vegetables in your garden next spring! Or,
visit our Farm Market in Summer and Fall to purchase our organically
grown Veggies!
In
the Fall we have a great selection of Mums
in a variety of colors.
Combine them with
our bunches of cornstalks, Indian corn, our
fantastic selection of gourds, and of course, pumpkins in
all shapes and sizes and your home will be warm and
inviting!
